Velveteen Opens as Chapter One of Velvet Quill Society Story

Some dreams emerge fully formed and some are built step by step. The Velvet Quill Society feels like a story in chapters: from idea, planning, and vision boards to practical details that turn a dream into reality.

Today, I’m thrilled to share our progress. We are working towards opening the Velvet Quill, a literary salon, tea house, and cultural lounge for books, conversation, creativity, and community. This vision has only become clearer.

Dreams unfold in stages. With 1,300 square feet secured and a third of the budget committed, we realized the Society needed to begin smaller and smarter. Introducing Chapter One: Velveteen.

Velveteen is our first physical home, the seed that will grow into the Velvet Quill Society, a cozy, book-filled studio that allows growth with care. It offers curated books, merchandise, a creative space, and the first layer of the future.

Beginning in chapters allows us to open warmly and sustainably. Velveteen provides a place to gather, browse, and feel part of something before the dream is fully realized. It’s a starting place with soul, focusing on a curated book selection, merchandise, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Coffee and tea service will begin in Chapter Two, once licensing and build-out are complete. The full Parlour remains the destination: a literary salon, lounge, and tea house.

Opening in chapters means transparency. Starting with Velveteen is a decision rooted in stewardship, protecting future possibilities. The community can participate from the beginning, shaping the space and building traditions.
