About The Velvet Quill Society
A Story-First Society, Growing in Chapters
The Velvet Quill Society is an idea before it is a finished space: a modern Athenaeum for lovers of stories. Velveteen, our brick-and-mortar bookshop and blind book box membership, is Chapter One. Each membership, event, and book shared helps us slowly unfold future chapters—more shelves, more gatherings, and deeper story-worlds—rooted here in Saint Paul.
Our Mission
The Velvet Quill Society exists to put meaningful stories into the hands of readers and to nurture a quiet, welcoming community around them. Through Velveteen, our brick-and-mortar bookshop and blind book box membership, we focus on slow discovery, thoughtful curation, and creating small but powerful moments of connection—one book, one member, one chapter at a time.
Our Vision
The Velvet Quill Society envisions a small but mighty literary presence in Saint Paul: a network of readers, writers, and neighbors connected through Velveteen, our bookshop and blind book box membership. Over time, we aim to grow a layered story-world and a rhythm of intimate gatherings—author talks, open mics, and silver screen nights—that deepen connection while staying rooted in thoughtful, meaningful reading.
